Hi, I’m Morgan — a West Michigan wedding and portrait photographer, professional moment-noticer, and deeply sentimental human.

I’ve always believed the people we love and the seasons we share with them are worth preserving — the milestone moments, the wonderfully ordinary ones, and all the little pieces in between that you don’t realize you’ll miss until they’ve passed.

let's connect

I’m not here to turn your life into a photoshoot.

My approach is documentary at heart, but I won't leave you wondering what to do with your hands. I’ll step in when you need direction or good light, but I’m always paying attention to what’s happening beyond the photo we’re making.

If your mom reaches for your hand, I’m watching. If your flower girl is spinning in the corner, I notice. I’d rather give you a gallery full of the people you love being exactly who they are.

I  want to know who matters before the moment happens.

Getting to know you isn't just nice — it's how I photograph you well. When your grandma pulls you aside for a quiet moment or your college friends start an inside joke, I want to already know the story behind it.

I'm showing up knowing you, so I can spend less time manufacturing moments and more time noticing the ones that already mean something.

life in between

Raised in West Michigan and now living in Holland with my husband, Jake, I’ve been taking the camera out of my dad’s hands since childhood—obsessed with holding onto the moments that matter.

Off the clock, you’ll find me:

  • Wandering book aisles
  • Overcomplicating new recipes
  • Cheering way too loudly for the Lions
  • Soaking up lake days with my people.

Loving people well has always been the heart of this.

By Morgan Stid is an extension of who I am:

an explicitly inclusive space for LGBTQIA+ couples, people of color, and individuals of every background to feel celebrated and at home being themselves. Whoever you are and whoever you love — there is room for you here.

Okay, enough about me. I want to know you.

Tell me who you love, what you’re celebrating, and what you want to remember about this season of your life.
